Email System Update for Work-Study Students
Overview of the Change
As part of being hired as a Work-study and/or Graduate Assistant at Park University, your email has transitioned from Gmail to Microsoft Exchange/Outlook 365.
Your email address (alias) has not changed — it remains the same (for example, firstname.lastname02@park.edu
).
However, instead of checking your email through Gmail, you will now use Outlook 365 for sending, receiving, and managing messages.
This change allows for better integration with other Microsoft 365 tools such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Calendar.
What This Means for You
Your email address stays the same.
Your inbox is now hosted in Outlook/Exchange, not Gmail.
You should no longer sign in to Gmail to check your email.
All new emails will appear in your Outlook 365 mailbox.
How to Access Your Outlook 365 Email
Option 1: Using a Web Browser
Go to https://outlook.office.com.
Sign in using your existing Park sign-on (IDnumber@park.edu)
Enter your password (same credentials used for other campus systems).
Once logged in, you’ll see your new Outlook inbox.
Approve any authentication prompts for your MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).

Option 2: Using the Outlook Desktop App
Open the Outlook app on your computer (Windows or macOS).
If prompted to add an account, enter your Park email address.
Use your Park username and password.
Outlook will automatically connect to your new Exchange mailbox.
Approve any authentication prompts for your MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).
Option 3: Using a Mobile Device
Download the Microsoft Outlook app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
Open the app and tap Add Account.
Enter your Park email address and sign-in information.
Approve any authentication prompts for your MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I still access old emails from Gmail?
A: Your old Gmail inbox will remain accessible for reference (read-only). However, all new messages will appear in Outlook 365 only.
Q: Will my email alias or address change?
A: No, your email alias remains the same. Only the system hosting your inbox has changed.
