Set Up McGraw Hill Connect in Canvas

  1. In your Canvas course, click on "McGraw Hill Integration" in the left navigation menu (this is also how you will enter your Connect section after pairing).

  1. Choose "McGraw Hill Connect" from the choices listed.

  2. If this is your first time using Connect in Canvas, you may be asked to login with your existing account.  If you do not have a Connect instructor account, select “Create Account” and ensure you only use your Park email to set up this account.

  3. The automatic copy process may take a moment while your course is set-up.  Please do not close out of this screen below:

  4. Once you see the screen pictured below, your Connect course is paired with your Canvas course. Click “Go to Section Home” under the McGraw Hill logo.  Next, update your assignment dates in Connect using the instructions below.


Adjust Assignment Dates

After you have set up Connect in Canvas, you must check the assignment dates in Connect and adjust them, if needed. Look at your assignment dates in Connect and determine whether they need to be shifted forward, and by how many days. If your course was recently developed or updated, the dates may already be correct.

You can use an online tool such as the one linked here, timeanddate.com, to determine how many days to shift assignment dates forward.

  1. On your Connect section home page, click “View All” under “Assignment overview”.

  1. Click the arrow at the top of the assignment list to open all folders.

  1. Click the checkbox at the top of the list to select all assignments.

  1. Click the ellipses menu in the upper right corner of the assignment list, and then click “Manage dates”.

  1. Use the “shift dates” option to shift all selected assignment dates forward by the appropriate number of days.

Alternatively, you can change assignment dates to a specified start and end date, either individually or in bulk. To change dates per Unit, select only the unit folder in Step 4, then change the dates to the appropriate Unit start and end date on the “change dates” screen.

The “individually” option in the upper right corner allows you to enter an individual start and end date for each selected assignment.

Click “save” when you are done shifting/changing dates.

How to Edit the Title of Your Connect Section

When the Auto-Copy-Pair process copies the Connect section to your Connect account, it will be listed with just the course number and title. If you would like to edit the title of your Connect section to add the session, year, and/or your name to differentiate from past Connect sections, please follow the steps below:

  1. In your Connect section, click the Section Information menu

  1.  From the Section Information menu, select “Edit section name and registration link.”

  1. Edit the Section Name as desired and click Save.
