As Teams is the heart of our phone system, its built-in directory capabilities are by far the best option Park has for quickly finding and contacting employees by name, position, department, or other.  Below are some quick steps you can follow.

  1. Searching by Name:
    1. Open Microsoft Teams.
    2. At the top of the Teams interface, you'll see a search bar.

    3. Type the name of the person you're looking for into the search bar.
    4. As you type, suggestions will appear below the search bar.

    5. Click on a suggestion to view that person.

    6. From this screen you can click the Phone icon to call them directly, send them a chat message, view them in the company Org chart under the Organization tab or view the activity history of the person in teams you have in common.

  1. Searching by Position or Department:
    1. The ability to search by position or department works much the same as it does with searching by individual.
    2. Type the position or department into the search bar at the top of the Teams interface and then press enter.

    3. To specifically limit your search to people, click the "People" tab in the Search menu.

    4. From here you can view a list of people within the organization that match your search.  You can scroll through the list to find the person or persons you are looking for. In doing so, you are also provided a quick view of their department, title, email address, and phone number. Since Teams Phone relies on our active directory systems, you can be sure the email and phone numbers displayed are accurate.

    5. Click on a person in the search results to view that person.
    6. From this screen you can click the Phone icon to call them directly, send them a chat message, view them in the company Org chart under the Organization tab or view the activity history of the person in teams you have in common.
