When using the Virtual Student Desktops in Citrix, it is not necessary to use a USB flash drive to save your assignments.  In fact it is far easier and more convenient to store your saved filed in the cloud.  Park University provides two "cloud drives" for all Students, Faculty, and Staff:  Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

This article will show how to use the Microsoft OneDrive.  For Google Drive, see this link.

Note!  If you follow the login instructions below and get a "license not assigned" error message, please contact the Help Desk right away so we can get one assigned to you by following the instructions in this link.

Downloading Assignments Or Files To The Virtual Student Desktop From OneDrive

If you already have a file that you wish to use in your OneDrive, you can download it to the Virtual Desktop.  First, open the Chrome Web Browser and go to login.microsoftonline.com.   Type in your Park ID number followed by "@park.edu"

(i.e. ######@park.edu) then click Next.

Now enter your Park password and click Sign in.

Once logged in, click the OneDrive icon to open it up.

Now that you are in your OneDrive, click the check next to the file you wish to download.

Click the Download button above to download your file.

Click the arrow next to your download and open your file using the default associated program.  Some files are associated with many different programs.  You may want to open the download folder so you can determine which program you want the file opened with; to do this click Show in folder.

Saving Your Assignments To Your OneDrive

Once you have completed your work on the Virtual Student Desktop, you will need to save it to your OneDrive so you don't lose it.

We will assume you are already logged into your OneDrive.  If you are not, please see the login instructions in the previous section.  Open your OneDrive and navigate in your folder list where you want to upload your file(s) to.  For our example, we are going to upload it to main OneDrive.

Here, we saved our file to the desktop.  With our web browser in a smaller, resized window, we can simply click and drag the file from the desktop to the OneDrive.

You can also click and drag your file from a folder as well.

Your file is now uploaded securely to your OneDrive.
