Directory File System has been activated. DFS Namespaces is a role in Windows Server that enables you to group shared folders located on different servers, the four Parkshares, into one or more logically structured namespaces. In our case our namespace is \\park.edu\parkshares this will give you access to the folders you have access to base on your login credentials. This is also compatible on an Apple computer. If you have any issues contact Mike Vargas at 816 584 6512.
If you want to connect your mac to a Windows or DFS share, you can hit Command + K on your Mac. You’ll get a screen something like:
Enter something like smb://hostname.somedomain.local/dfsshare in the Server Address field.
Enter username and password (guest is usually disabled). If you do not want to enter your password again, check the tick box next to “Remember this password in my keychain.“
