What is the Resource?


Access to equipment, display, controller, and games necessary for gaming via current console gaming equipment.

How can I access the Resource?


Students can access to the gaming resources by traveling to the Academic Plaza. Games and controllers will need to be provided by the Student or checked-out from the Student Life office on the first floor of Thompson.

Why would I want to use it?


To connect, engage, and be entertained with their peers while engaging in active game play at Park.

Is there a quick start/basic use guide available?


In order to get started using the games, please follow the steps outlined below:

    Bring or procure your game of choice from the Student Life Office

    Power on the unit (Xbox or PS4)

    Plug in your Controllers

    Insert your game

    Update as necessary and begin to play

 

How does the item make me more successful at Park?

As a student, social engagement, entertainment, and connection rank high on the priority list. We believe that your University experience is not just about the experience you have in the classroom but also outside of it. The space will provide the opportunity for you to engage with your peers, have fun, make connections, and engage in other unscripted, latent learning experience. In addition, we have found that there are opportunities needed for stress reduction on campus. The game room can help facilitate an entertainment value that can help reduce stress.

 

How does this item improve my student experience?

In addition to the social aspects, the opportunity adds value face-value or the value that effective execution of technology brings. There is value added to the campus and the community in securing and deploying resources that help showcase Park University technological assets. That is to say that the materials we use and the technology that we have access to has a direct result to our perceptions of a place. We put students first.

Is there a policy in place?

When using the devices users will need to abide by the Park University Student Code of Conduct and Information Technology Acceptable Use policies found in MyPark. You will also be asked to follow at posted rules regarding conduct.
